City Council Minutes 05-24-1961 Specialo 2 33 May 24, 1961 Special meeting held this day for the purpose of opening bids for street surfacing made necessary by the sewer improvement. Members present., Adamson Hickman. Adams and Anderson. Absent -Baker. Bids were opened and were as follows. J.W. Craig Co. Mpls; $329208,85 H&S Asphalt Anoka 35,078*30 Craig Alexander Co. 1"ipls, 379166.00; Surma Bros. -39,198.40 Twin City Paving 38,529.50 Donavan Contracting 41,314.10 Rieger -Roadways 4,669.00 C. L. Stodolka Co. 48, 951.70. Motion by Adams to enter into a tentative contract with J.W. Craig Co. of Fpls as low bidders in amount of $32,208.85 untillengineer checks bids as to accuracy. contract to be awarded at regular meeting.Second Hickman carried. Above bids were advertised for three weeks in Monticello Times and the Construction Bulletin. Work to comply with specifications drawn up by Carter, Krueger add Associates. Myyor Andersen called the public hearing to order. Public hearing for improvements as listed in advertised notice in village paper. Upon hearing no objections from the effected property owners the following resolution was enetered: Motion by Adamson to adopt the following resolution. Whereas, after due notice of public hearing_, such hearing was duly held on May 24, 1961 and the council then heard all perxons desiring to be heard on the matter, and,has fully considered the same, Now therefore, be it resolved by the village council of the Village of Monticello, Minnesota, as follows, That it is advisable,,expedient and necessary the the Village of Monticello construct the improvements as outlined in the notice of hearing, and orders - the same to be made. Above resolution was seconded by Hickman. Voting in favor. Adamson, Hickman Adams, Anderson. Voting against. none. On motion hearing adjourned. Clerk
