City Council Minutes 11-20-1962 Special9C 11�o November 6, 1962 T Special meeting of the village council held at 11:30 PTS. to canvass the election results. Members present-0jakangas, 'Baker, Swanson & Kasper. Absent- Adams. Yotion by Baker to accept the report of the election judgesand to certify the results., as the election was held in accordinance with the law.Seconded by S'l-I&Yison C"'Ic carried, Results of the election are as follows: Total voters 601. For clerk: Kasper, 385 votes. F. E. Klein 202 votes. Kasper declaired elected. For trustee: 'Swanson 350 votes. Swanberg 212 votes. Swanson declared elected. For assessor: Pitt 515 votes. Pitt declared elected. For Justice of the Peace: C. Christianson 535 votes. Christianson declared elected. For constable: P. Walters 18 votes.., J., Powers 16 votes., 4 Busch 7 votes, The terim of P. Walters does not expire until Dec, 31 1963, therefore J. Pm:ers was declared elected. Members present- Ojakan7 ,as, Adams., Baker., Kasper & Swanson., Absent- None,, Sealed bids were recieved regaxding the proposed extension of se, -Ter and water system on t")ird street between Elm street and Chestnut streetfrom the following contractors-: Three Way Construction Co.., 9 Wilson Ave, S.E.., St. Cloud.; Herbst Construction Co., 1550 Highway #10, Mpls. 21., Minn.; Minn -Kota Excay. Inc.., 6332 Lakeland Ave. Yo.., kkpls. 283 11inn.; R. W. Moore Construction Co.., 1613 Ridgewood lane.,- St. Paul 13., 1,7113.; Big Lake Gravil Co.., Big Lake, Minn. Motion by Swanson to return bids unopened and awate further action by the Develop- ment Cor -P. regarding there proposed building in this area before recalling bids. Seconded by Adams and carried. Rev. Harold Donis was sworn in as civil defence director by Idayor Ojakangas. A request was recieved asking the -village to furnish space for a drive in mail box. Yotion by Kasper that this request be denied because it would involve taking up too much parking, space. 3)econded by Swanson and carried. The Clerk was instructed to write the Travelers Indemnity Co. regarding the unpaid bills tb Bir, Lake Gravil Co. and the village on work preformed that had not been completed by Row & Alger Co. The village council meet with Lonnie Worth regarding his planed lagoon sewage desnosal systen at the La Rie rest home. It was the councils ppenion that it wodd be better for hire to connect to the village4esoosal plant. I -Ir Krueger of Krueger, Michaelson Engineering was ask to contact +Uie state health dept. and Mr. Worth ts engineer reg,-xdinc, this. The Clerk was instructed to call McGarry Bros. of St. Cloud and find out costs of s%,reepjiV the excess gr,-vil rEv.aining from seal coating- the village streets. On motion djourned, Clerk
