City Council Minutes 04-05-1965April 5, 1965 15 Regular meeting ofthe village council held this date in the village hall. Members present- Dergdtrom, Kasper, Madsen, Sandberg and Swanson. Absent-None. Minuted of the meetings of March 2 and 8th were approved as read. T. Kealy requested that the, summer recreation ditrectors be given a raise in salary. Motion by Kasper to appoint To Kmaly and A. McIntire to represent the village on the recreation board, Seconded by Sandberg and carried. The request for a raise in salary for recreationli directors salary tabeled until determination of salary required by qualified personal. A group of men 1were present requesting that the village attempt furtrier to find land to be used for a dump. Motion by Madsen to once again look for, and advertize for land to be used for dump grounds. seconded by lasper and carried. A new American flag was presented to the village by the American Legion Auxillary. Motion by Sandberg that a,, note of thanks be sent to the American Legion Auxillary for their donation of the flag. Seconded by Swanson and carried. L. Smith read a letter that is to be sent to the -tate Commissioner of Highways requesting that the speed limit be lowered by the-High School. A request was recieved that sidewalks be installed from the elemehtry school to the churches where the children walk to release classes. Motion by Kasper that this request be tabeled until the snow is gone and these ares can be inspedted, Seconded by Madsen and carried. Motion by Kasper that the village sponser three school patrol children to camp at a cost of $25.00 each. seconded by Swanson and carried. Motion by Madsen to pay Mueller Bros. $1.,500.00 an the well contract and to make the check out to Mueller Bros. and Milten Olson. Seconded by Kasper and carried. Dr. Erlandson requested to know if there was an ordinance restricting the storage of a camping trailer on ones own property. The council determined there is no ordinance against this. Motion by Kasper to approve the contract with N.S.P. Co. for the electrical rated in pumping at the new pump house.Seconded by Sandberg and carried. Motion by Swanson to accept WAV and pay the bills as read. Seconded by Madsen and carried, A letter was recieved from Michael Burns Attorney stating the terms of settlement with R. Michaelis as follows- That the Villag pay R. Michaelis $800.00 and that for this consideration Mr. Michaelis discharge the village from any liability past. sub- sequent or future arizint) g out o`' his empliyment with the village. That he shall resign effective April ;, 1965 from his employment with the village, and that there shall be no future costs to the village arizing out &f this case. A letter of resignation was recieved from R. Michaelis to be effective- as of April 5, 1965* Motion by Madsen topay R. Michael-is $800.00 to compensate for the difference in his pay while off the village payroll and to accept his resignation as of April 5., 1965* Seconded by Swanson and czried and carried. Sandberg obstaining. Motion by Sandberg to pay R. Michaelis $62.62 far wages from April 1 thru April 5., 1965. Seconded by Kasper and carried. No Massie turned in a list of overtire hours amounting to 447 hours and requesting to be paid for these hours* Tabeled until the council could Meet and nagotiate with N.
