City Council Minutes 06-07-19651 t� June 7, 1965 Regular rmeting of the village council held this date in the village hall, Members present- Bergstrom., Kasper., Madsen., Sandberg and Swanson. Absent-- None. Minutes ofthe meetings of May 3 & 11 were approved as read. Bids far installing a pitch and gravil roof on the liquor store building were recieved as follows: Nieman ts Hoofing and Siding Co. of New Prague- $1.,750.00 Bernick Roofing and'Siding - $1,736,00 wit,? $350.00 'of this amount to be sub- tracted if the botton. portion of the ga:Oage roof is onmitted. Motion by Kasper that we accept the bid of Nieman roofing and Siding Co. and enter into a contract with them to have the pitch and gravil roof installed over the liquor store bldg... Seconded by Sandberf and carried. Motion by Madsen to pay Mueller Bros. the final payment of $625'.00 on the well contract, Seconded by Kasper and carried, A. McIntire requested that a yeald sign be installed at the corner of Elm Street and county road 39 on Elm street and a dead end sign on East River Street at the corner of Washington and East River Streets. Request granted. Motion by Madsen to approve the following building permits: William Schneider to build a 6 ft. X 6 ft. cement block pump house on the Mississippi riirer in back of his home in block 58; Bob Nelson to build a 20 ft. X 24 ft. wood frame garage with streight gable roof and two overhead doors and lap siding on lot 8 block 34 Lower Monticello; and J. L. Brouillard to build a 13 ft. X 34 ft. addition with basement to his home on lots 9 & 10 block C Lower Monticello.* Seconded by Swanson and carried. � lj5,'R(? I Motion by Madsen that ge July meeting of the village councel be held tuesday July 6th because of the holiday. Sedonded by Swanson and carried. A request was recieved from Dr. Erland.son and F. Johnston that the village install sidewalk and curb and gutter from Broadway street alorfkv, the west side of Walnut street to th6 south end of Dr. Erlandsons property. It was deterrrdned that in 1960 the total cost of installing sidewalk and curb and gutter was, assessed to the property owner, therefore these property owners could do the same at their own expense. Motion by Madsen the the wafes of A. Harwarth be raised to $1.75 per hour while acting as temporary maintainence foreman. Seconded by Swanson and carried. Motion by Madsen that we pay Michael Burns, Attorney., the additional $364.43 due for his services on the R., Michaelis case, Seconded by Swanson and carried Kasper voting no. V 3 Motion by Swanson that we pay Bergerson-Caswell $2.,050.00 as full payment on repair of the old well as agreed. Seconded by Sandberg and carried.
