Special meeting of the Village Council held this time and date at the Village
Hall. Members present: 'Mayor William Sandberg; Councilmen Edgard Schaffer,
Franz Swanberg, J. 14. Biller, Jr.. absent; Councilman James Taus.
The Coun6ilmen assigned to study wage and frinm benefits for the Village
employees presented the following; recommendations to Council: They recommended
that the Municipal Liquor Store have four (4) full time bartenders in addition
to the Manager. Further, that the bartendei:s work on a salary basis and a forty-
five (45) hour work week. It was also recommended that the part-time and over-
time hours be limited to only twelve (12) hours per week. They recommended that the
police department be increased to threeWfull-time police officers. This would enable
the police department to provide 24 hour police coverage of the Village and create
more realistic working hours.
It was further recommended that the Village vrage scale be kept on a par with
other municipalities and industries andtlla.t the Village provide health insurance
for the empolyees.
Motion by Councilman Miller to nut the full -tine bartenders on a 45 hour week
wor'k basis commencing 1•iarch 1, 1969. Further, to set Duane Moses' monthly salary
as a bartender at $575.00 per month; to set Claude Johnston's monthly salary as a
bartender at $550.00 per month; to hire two additional full-time bartenders; to
increase the wages of JUta Farnick and :Clary Arnold, off -sale Clerks, to $2.00 per
hour. Also to increase the salary of Lloyd G. Schnelle, Clerk -Treasurer, to $750.00
per month; Arthur McIntire, Chief of Police, to $675.00 per month; Berlyn Birkholz,
Police Patrolman, to $550.00 per month; alter ifack, Maintenance Supervisor, to
$600.00 per month; and � gene Fr hlin� Maintenance man to $525.00

Police, Liquor Store, and Maintenance Departments part-time employees will be
increased to $2.50 per hour. Further;that all the above stated pay raises be
effective March 1, 1969. Also, that the above employees, with the exception of
the Clerk -Treasurer, be covered by a health insurance plan. Motion seconded by
Councilman Schaffer, and carried. Voting yes: mayor Sandberg; Councilmen Schaffer,
Swanberg, and biller. Voting no: None.

Associates, CPA Firm, audit the Village records for 1963. Motion seconded by
Councilman Swa.nberg and carried. Voting yes: Mayor Sandberg; Councilmen Schaffer,
Miller, and Swanberg. Voting no: None.

At the request ofrthe Village Council, the following `Tillage Planning
Commission members were in attendance at this meeting: Father Gearty, Vice
Chairman; Mr. Loren Senness; Mr. Dale Lungwitz; Mr. Bob Davis. 141r.,Harry
Gahr was also present at Council request. Representing the Fullerton Lumber
Company were i`r: Morley, Vice President; lir. Rex Getinger, Field Ptanager;
Mr. Doug Garwood, iulonticcllo Yard. Manager.
The meeting was called regarding the issuance of a building permit to
Fullerton Lumber Company to remodel their lumber yard. Council members and
the Village Planning Commission members asked the .Fullerton representatives,
if they.wouldgconsider relocating their present Monticello lumber yard to a
site where they could better serve the community. They stated to the Fullerton
people that the present site dosen't answer the needs of a present-day lumber
yard. Further, they stated that the Village needs the land where the present
lumber ,yard is located for Village parking area. 'Mr. Morley, representing the
Fullerton Lumber Company, stated that is was their intention to rennod.el the
present lumber yard so that it could adequately serve the Community. He also
stated that relocating it at another site within the M- nticello area would be
too costly at the present time. Council pointed out that Fullerton Lumber Yard
had been storing lumber on the Village narking lot area. The lumber yard spokesman
stated that they had. Council approval to stack lturber in this area. Council
stated that this pra.ctiue would be discontinued.

Special meeting of the Village Council held this time and date at the
Villae Hall. Members present: mayor Sandberg; Councilmen Fd Schaffer,
J. W. 'Tiller Jr., and James Maus. Yembe-rs absent; Councilman Franz Swanberg.
Council members reviewed the Clerk -Treasurer's Village Financial
Statement for year 1968. Votion by Council.can Schaffer to approve of publishing
the Clerk -Treasurer's Village Financial Statement for year 1968 in the Mlonticello
Times. Yotion seconded by Councilman "Diller and carried. Voting yes: P°payor
Sandberg; Council roan Schaffer, , iller, and "Maus. Voting no: Njone.
