City Council Minutes 04-16-1969 Special7:00 p.m. April 16, 1969 Special m^eting of the Village Council held this time and date at the Village Hall. Members present: Mayor Sandberg, Councilmen Ed Schaffer, Franz Swanberg, J. W. Miller, Jr., and James us„ Members absent: Nohe.. Ma Motion by Councilman Schaffer to approve of a building permit for Mr„ Eugene Franzman to build_ a house, 26' by 40' , and a garage 23' by 24' on Lot Block 99 Lower Monticello. Motion seconded by Councilman Swanberg and carried, Voting yes: 1,14yor Sandberg; Councilmen Schaffer, Swanberg, Miller, and I'aus. Voting no: `None. n T 14o -tion by Councilman Schaffer to hire Mir. Kenneth Barthel on a part time basis as of April 15, 1969, to assist the Village Maintenance Department. Further, he is to be paid at the rate of $2.56 per hour. Motion seconded by Councilman Swanberg and carried.. Voting yes: 11ayor Sandberg; Councilmen Schaffer, Swanberg, Hiller, and Maus. Voting no: None. Motion by Councilman Schaffer to authorize the Mayor and Clerk -Treasurer to sign an a.mendent to the contract agreement for the Village of Monticello with Alvin Zahler,Al's Sanitation Service, whereby the Village will pay Alvin Zahler, Al's Sanitation Service, $500.00 per month as of April 12 1969, for garbage removal service. This :1YENDPIENT shall be effective for only so long as the contract shall remain in exitence..and it shall become null and void if the Agreement is terminated byes rparty prior to the expiration of the date set forth- its crmsumation. Motion seconded by Councilman Maus and carried. Voting yes: Mayor Sandberg; Councilmen Schaffer, Swanberg, Miller, and Maus. Voting no: None. I . Motion by -Councilman Miller to approve of renewing the Village of Monticello contract with Mr. Marlin Olson, Village Dog Catcher, for a period. of 60 days. Further, to authorize the Mayor and Clerk -Treasurer to sign the contract for the Village of Monticello with i�iarlin Olson. Motion seconded by Councilman Schaffer and carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Sandberg, Councilmen Schaffer, Swanberg, Miller, and Maus. Voting no: None. Council discussed the number of man hours that were being; used to operate the �=icipal Liquors-- tore. They also reviewed the Liquor Store Manager's new work schedule for the full-time employees rand the part-time employees. Itr was decided that they should wait to see how the new schedule works with one exception and that no work hours be alowe after 12:00 a.m, for pay.
