City Council Minutes 11-28-1969 Special170 4:00 P.M. Woxember 28, !969 Special meeting of the Village Council held this time and date at the Village Hall. Members present: Councilmen E. Schaffer, F. Swanberg, J. Maus, and R, Schleif. 1""embers absent: Mayor W. Sandberg. Councilman Yla.us, Acting M'Iayor, presided over the special council meeting held this date. The Wage Committee appointed by Mayor Sandberg And approved by Council on November 11, 1969, presented their recommendations to the Council. The Wage Committee stated that after revi®wing the Municipal Liquor Store i1 na-ter'5 sAlary, they felt that it should be adjusted and recommended that it be reduced from $800.00 per month to $750.00 per month. The committee stated that they had spoken to the liquor store manager about reducing his salary and he had no objection to this. They further recommended that the janitorial service charge should be increased to $175.00 per month. Further, th.:e committee recommended the following ware increase for the following position: $50.00 per -month for the Clerk -Treasurer, $75.00 per month for the Chief of Police, $100.00 per month for the "Maintenance Chief, $50.00 per month for the full time patrolman, $50.00 per month for the full time maintenance man, 25 cents an hour for the off sale clerks, 25 cents an h©ur for the part-time clerical help, and 50 cents an hour for -the part-time maintenance man. They did not recommend any increase"in the hourly wages of the part -'time police officers or the bartenders as they felt they were in line with the waIge guide lines. The Wage Committee also recommended that after a full time village employee had completed six (r) consecutive years of`16mployment with the village, his annual a leave be increased to three (3) weeks. Council members discussed the wa Te committees recommendations that had been presented to them. Motion by Councilman Schaffer that the salary of Mr. Gerald DeLong, Municipal Liquor Store Manager, be est5-Azbli.shed at $750.00 per as recommended by the Wa-ffe Committee providing Mir. DeLong did not object to this reduction in salary, and that this reduction in salary be effective December l,`1969. In addition, that Mrs. Barbara. DeLong's salary for janitorial services be'increased to $175.00 per month effective December 1, 1969. Further, that the sp.lary of Lloyd G. Schnelle, Clerk -Treasurer, be,increas ed to $800.00 per month; fix. Arthur McIntire, Chief of Police, salary be increased to $750.00 per month; lir. Walter Mack, Maintenance Chief,'salary be increased to $700.00 per month; Mr. Berlyn. Birkholz, Patrolman, salary be increased to '$600.00 per month, Mr. Eugene Fryhling, Maintenance Man, salary be increase to $625.00 per month; Mfrs. :alta Farnick and Mrs. Mary Arnold, Off Sale Clerks, hourly wage be increased to $2.25 per hour; Barbara Schnelle, part- time Clerical Assistant, hourly wage be increased to $2.65 per hour; and Mr. Roger Mack, part-time Maintenance Mian, hourly wage be increased to $3.00 per hour. The above pay raises will be effective December 1, 1t)69; Further, that after a village employee has completed six (6) wonrecutive years of full time employment with the village; he be ±liven three (3) weeks annual. vacation.
