REGULAR MEETING
MONTICELLO PLANNING COMMISSION
Tuesday, January 12, 1988 - 7:30 p.m.
Members Present:
Richard Carlson, Joyce Dowling.
Members Absent:
Richard Martie, Cindy Lemm, Jim Ridgeway.
Staff Present:
Gary Anderson.
1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Richard Carlson at
7:32 p.m.
Chairperson Richard Carlson indicated to all people present from the
public that since there weren't at least three members of the planning
commission present that they could entertain no motions on any of the
public hearing notices which were published. Mr. Carlson explained that
they would go through the agenda as presented item by item but that they
would not make any decisions on any of them. Mr. Carlson explained that
the two public hearing notices which were on the agenda would be passed
on to the City Council at their next regularly scheduled meeting,
January 25, and would be heard at that time with no recommendation from
the Monticello Planning commission.
2.
Approval of Minutes of the Regular Meeting Held December 8, 1987.
No action, as there was no quorum.
3. Public Hearing - A conditional use request to allow outdoor sales in a
B-3 (highway business) zone. Applicant, Monticello Housing and RV
Center, Inc.
No action taken, as there was not a quorum of planning Commission
members.
4. Tabled request for a preliminary plat review of a proposed new
subdivision plat. Applicant, Charles Ritze.
No action was taken, as there was not a quorum of the Planning Commission
members.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ITEMS
1. A conditional use request to allow auction sales in a B-3 (highway
business) zone. Applicant, Martie's Farm Service. Council action:
Approved as per Planning Commission recommendation.

Regular Planning Commission Meeting

A variance request to allow construction of a building addition within
the front yard setback requirement. Applicant, American Legion Post
No. 260. Council action: Acknowledged Planning commission's
recommendation but approved the applicant's variance request.
3.
A request for final plat review of a proposed new subdivision plat.
Applicant, city of Monticello. Council action: No action necessary, as
it was tabled by the Planning commission.
4.
city of Monticello Annexation update. zoning Administrator Anderson
indicated to Planning Commission members present that the City would be
entering the oral arguments section of the annexation hearing process.
The oral session allows the city and the Township to enter on their
behalf any more oral testaments by the attorneys or consulting
engineering/consulting planner. That meeting was scheduled to be held
January 15, 1988, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Minneapolis.
5.
Set the next tentative date for the Monticello planning Commission
meeting for February 9, 1988, 7:30 p.m. It was the consensus of the two
Planning commission members present that that meeting date be set.
6. Adjournment. The meeting adjourned at 8:06 p.m.
