City Council Minutes 09-26-2022 SpecialMINUTES MONTICELLO CITY COUNCIL BUDGET WORKSHOP Monday, September 26, 2022 — 5 p.m. Academy Room, Monticello Community Center Present: Jim Davidson, Bill Fair, Charlotte Gabler, Lloyd Hilgart, Sam Murdoff Absent: None Staff: Rachel Leonard, Sarah Rathlisberger, Tom Pawelk, Matt Leonard Angela Schumann and Jennifer Schreiber 1. Call to Order Mayor Lloyd Hilgart called the special meeting to order at 5 p.m. 2. Public Works Facility Discussion Rachel Leonard gave an overview of the need for a new Public Works facility and how it will serve the City currently and long term. The following items are recommended to be included in the project: Water and Sewer operations; Street operations; shop operations; Facility Maintenance operations; Engineering operations; Parks, Art & Recreation Department seasonal storage; Election location and storage; and Citywide IT server. Ms. Leonard noted that staff is supportive of moving forward even as costs have increased. The facility originally was thought to cost $19 million but is proposed to be closer to $27-29 million. It was noted that at the regular City Council meeting the Council would be asked to authorize and RFP for professional services related to construction of a new public works facility. Hiring an architect for would be a solid step in moving forward with the project. There was some discussion among City Council, who expressed support with moving forward with a new facility even as costs have increased. 3.
