City Council Minutes 04-06-1999 SpecialMINUTES SPECIAL MEETING - MONTICELLO CITY COUNCIL Tuesday, Apri16, 1999 - 7:30 p.m. City Hall Conference Room Members Present: Clint Herbst, Brian Stumpf, Roger Carlson, Bruce ~1'hiclen Members Absent: Roger Belsaas Acting Mayor Clint Herbst called the special meeting of the City Council to order. 2. Consideration of a request for a conditional use permit within the I-2 zoning district to allow a subdivision and planned unit development for a lot without public street front~e and conditional use permit to alter the surfacing_and curbing materials. Applicant: Riverside Uil. Mr. Jeff Michaelis proposed to purchase approximately 6 acres of the Electro Industries property at 2150 West River Street for the purpose of relocating Riverside Oil from its current location at the community center building site. "I'he project proposed a planned unit development without public street frontage, utilizing the existing driveway of Electro lndustries for access via an easement. In addition, the applicant requested a waiver from the curbing and paving requirements as allowed in the I-2 zoning district. The Planning Commission, at its regular meeting held immediately prior to the special Council meeting, recommended approval of both conditional use permits. Decision 1 A MOTION WAS MADE BY BRIAN STUMPF ANU SECONDED BY BRUCE THIELEN TO APPROVE 'hHE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT/PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT TO ALLOW THE SUBDIVISION OF A LO"I" WITI-IOUT STREET FRONTAGE SUBJECT TO TI-IE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: THE PINE TREES, OR FQt1IVALENT, MUST" BE RETAINED FOR FUTURE SCRF.,ENING AND BUFFERING. ADDITIONAL, LANDSCAPING IS INSTALLED ALONG THE FREEWAY FRONTAGE. A FIRE HYDRANT MUST BE INSTALLED WITHIN 300 FT OF THE.. SITI~ WITHIN 5 YEARS AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. Motion carried unanimously. FUTURE EXPANSION ON THF, SITE WILL REQUIRE A NEW CI'I~Y REVIEW OF CURBING AND PAVIN(:~ REQUIREMENTS. Motion carried unanimously.
