We're seeking to give it a distinct atmosphere to inspire additional development and attract the public. • The Downtown Small Area Plan was built upon the idea of phased improvements. After several years of small and medium-sized projects, this one is intended to be a larger scale with transformative outcomes. • The investment should be commensurate with the vision outlined in the plans and goals for Downtown. • The improvements will create a Walnut Street connection from the civic core to the river. It should incorporate people -scale spaces and variety along the way. • It should be designed for all people and all seasons. I(- CITYOF Monticello • The total estimated cost for the project right now is $10,667,609.54 • This includes costs to be paid by Wright County and the Block 52 developer • The total estimated cost for the City's portion is $8.715 -this reflects the change in scope to incorporate a larger project area • The 2023 budget includes $5.25 million for the Downtown Roadway & Pedestrian Improvements As we move through the presentation tonight, you'll have an opportunity to see the various components of the project, how they come together, and provide feedback on how you would like to approach balancing the final product with the funding required.
