STREETS & PARKS COMMISSION MEETING
March 24, 1976 - $ P. M.
Present: Arve Grimsmo, Dale Lungwitz, Harvey Kendall,
Robert Rierson.
In Attendance: Michael Gair and Jean Burman with Howard
Dahlgren & Associates.
Detailed cost estimates of park development plan were
reviewed. All costs were exclusive of labor, as city
crews could do most of the work.
Following is a cost breakdown by park:
Bridge Parks $21,888
Ellison Park $19,318
Fourth Street Park ~~$22,56'7
Total $63,863
%~Prefabricated shelter would increase cost $6880, figures
above include just a plywood shelter.
Concrete curb and gutter and bituminous surfacing for parking
lot and roadway would increase cost $261.
Committee felt the city should develop adequate drainage
system for Fourth Street Park which would enlarge the 12
inch storm sewer on Wright from 4th to 3rd Street and also
construct a storm system down Wright Street as indicated
in the Comprehensive Utilities Plan. Additionally it was
felt the city should extend water to flood rinks at the
4th Street park.
Meeting to be held March 31, 1976 to discuss priorities
and make recommendations to council.
