Roads and Streets Commission Meeting
February 19, 19'75 1:00 P.M.
City Hall
Members present: Arve Grimsmo, Harvey Kendall, Dale Lungwitz.
In attendance: Mayor Con Johnson, Dick Brooks, Lowell
Zachman and Don Nolting and Morris Hoglund.
1. Review with Don Nolting, county engineer and Lowell
Zachman, county commissioner, of possible county funds
for construction of road.
County engineer to come up with preliminary plans for road
along and south of interstate 94•
2. County to plow all of county road #75 including down-
town area.
Decision was made to have street department plow entire
3 block downtown area and in remaining 5 block downtown
area plow just in front of commercial property. County
engineer was requested to have county plow entire downtown
area when they were plowing county road #75. County engineer
stated county would pay on .same basis as state for snow
removal in 19'76.
3. Discussion on extent of snow removal to be done by
city.
Consensus was that city was doing fine job and to continue
rather than to cut back services.
4. Discussion on whether to remove snow buildup in driveways
as a result of snowplowing.
Decision was made to review cost and effort involved and
try it on trial basis to determinefeasibility.
5. Discussion on equipment needs and maintenance building.
Decision to sell bonds for maintenance building and put on
referendum with Split Liquor Issue.
Consensus was that a loader was needed and it should be
investigated further.
