INDUSTRIAL & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (IEDC)

1. Call to Order
Wayne Elam called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m.
2. Consideration to appoint 2014 officers
This item was considered at a previous meeting.
3. Acceptance of Minutes — March 4th, 2014
BILL TAPPER MOVED TO ACCEPT THE MARCH 4TH, 2014 MEETING MINUTES
AS PRESENTED. DAN OLSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 9-
0.
4. Consideration of adding items to the agenda None
5. Reports
a. Economic Development Report — Staff commented on some of the issues noted in
the written report and responded to questions related to preliminary findings of
the EDA Hospitality Study and progress on the planning for intersection
improvements at TH25 and CSAH 75.
The IEDC requested that a letter of recognition be sent to WSI Industries in
response to recent press acknowledging the company's continued local success.
b. City Council: Council members provided a brief update and responded to
questions related to the FiberNet management transition.
C. Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Marcy Anderson provided a brief Chamber
update and responded to questions.
d. TAC: Jeff O'Neill provided a brief update related to ongoing transportation
projects. The next TAC is scheduled to meet on May 8h at 7:30 a.m. at the
IEDC Minutes: 4/01/14
Monticello Community Center.
6. April Table Topic — Health Care
The IEDC welcomed Mary Ellen Wells, Administrator for CentraCare Health - Monticello
as guest speakers.
Among the issues discussed were:
• Reestablishing Monticello Clinic relationship
• Focus on value, health of individuals versus procedures
• Doubled campus traffic: services, programs, hiring physicians
• No tax levy
• Birthing center reopened
• $4 million CentraCare investment annually in Monticello
Bill Tapper asked about drug testing services. Ms. Wells indicated that she would pass
that comment along as CentraCare considers a larger review of occupational health
services.
Dr. Donald Maus will be retiring after 50 years of providing for the healthcare needs of
the community. He will be honored at a celebration at the MCC on Tuesday, April 8'' at
the Monticello Community Center. The event will be publicized on City's website and
Facebook site.

MARY BARGER MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 8:10 A.M. BILL
TAPPER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 9 -0.
