RESOLUTION NO. 2011-42
AUTHORIZING INTENT TO CONSIDER AN APPLICATION FOR A CABLE
FRANCHISE AND CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ISSUANCE
OF A CABLE FRANCHISE IN THE CITY OF MONTICELLO
APPLICANT: BRIDGEWATER TELEPHONE COMPANY, DBA TDS TELECOM
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello has received a request from Bridgewater Telephone
Company, dba TDS Telecom, to consider issuance of a franchise authorizing operation of a
system to provide cable service in the City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello is required to post and publish a public notice for applicants
seeking to provide cable service in the City and call for a public hearing to hear proposals from
franchise applicants, according to Minnesota State Statutes Chapter 238;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELL0,
MINNESOTA:
1. The City Clerk shall prepare and publish in the official paper a public notice for
applications from persons seeking to provide cable service in the City of Monticello; said
notice to be published on June 2 and 9, 2011, with applications due by 4:00 p.m. on
Friday, June 17, 2011.
2. A public hearing shall be held to hear proposals for a cable franchise on the 27th day of
June, 2011 in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7 p.m., and the Clerk shall give
mailed and published notice of such hearing and improvement as required by law.
