RESOLUTION NO. 2012-024
PERMITTING INSTALLATION OF PRIVATE SEWER AND WATER SYSTEMS
WITH APPROVED GUN RANGE IMPROVEMENTS AT THE
MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT
WHEREAS, the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant (MNGP) has submitted plans to the City
of Monticello for improvements to their existing gun range; and
WHEREAS, City Ordinance 7 -2 -3, Private Sewer and Water Systems, states that private sewer
and/or water systems are not allowed within City limits without resolution of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, it would not be cost - effective for MNGP to connect their proposed sewer and water
system improvements to the City's public utilities systems at this time; and
WHEREAS, the City will require MNGP to connect their entire sewer and water system to the
City's public utilities systems at such time that it is cost - effective to do so;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Monticello that
Xcel Energy is hereby permitted to install private sewer and water system improvements with
their gun range improvements at the MNGP per City- approved plans and specifications.
