RESOLUTION NO. 2012-029
CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2012 RURAL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO. 12CO01
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the Council adopted February 13, 2012, a Feasibility
Report has been prepared by the City Engineer with reference to proposed improvements to
Edmonson Avenue from Chelsea Road to the south City limits, Fallon Avenue from School
Boulevard to the power lines between Klein Farms and Hunters Crossing, and Fenning Avenue from
School Boulevard to 85`h Street NE, including the rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of streets,
curb and gutter, and public utilities as needed, and other appurtenant work; and,
WHEREAS, a draft copy of the reports were received by the City Council on March 26, 2012;
and,
WHEREAS, a final copy of the reports providing information regarding whether the proposed
project is necessary, cost - effective and feasible will be presented to the City Council on April 9,
2012;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA:
1. The Council will consider the proposed improvements for said streets in accordance with
the Feasibility Reports and the assessment of abutting properties for all or a portion of the
cost of the improvements pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429 at an estimated
total cost of the improvements of $728,950 (Alternative B).
2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvements on the 9th day of April,
2012 in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7 p.m. and the Clerk shall give mailed and
published notice of such hearing and improvements as required by law.
