ACCEPTING FEASIBILITY REPORT, ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS AND
AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
2012 RURAL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO. 12CO01
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the Council adopted on February 13, 2012, a Feasibility
Report has been prepared by the City Engineer with reference to proposed improvements to
Edmonson Avenue from Chelsea Road to the south City limits, Fallon Avenue from School
Boulevard to Hunters Crossing, and Fenning Avenue from School Boulevard to 851h Street NE,
including the rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of streets, curb and gutter, and public utilities
as needed, and other appurtenant work; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted on March 26, 2012, a Public
Hearing has been called for April 9, 2012 at 7 p.m., where the Council will consider the
proposed improvements for said streets in accordance with the Feasibility Reports and the
assessment of abutting properties for all or a portion of the cost of the improvements pursuant to
Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429; and
WHEREAS, on March 30, 2012 the Clerk gave mailed and published notice of such hearing and
improvements as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Feasibility Report was received for review by the City Council on April 9,
2012.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OFMONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA:
Such improvement is necessary, cost - effective and feasible as detailed in the feasibility
report. The total cost of the improvements for the four identified alternatives is estimated
at:
• Alternative A= $870,680 (Edmonson opt. #1, Fallon opt. 41, Fenning Overlay)
• Alternative B = $807,390 (Edmonson opt. #1, Fallon opt. #2, Fenning Overlay)
• Alternative C = $2,065,900 (Edmonson opt. #2, Fallon opt. 41, Fenning Overlay)
• Alternative D = $2,002,610 (Edmonson opt. #2, Fallon opt. 42, Fenning Overlay)
2. The City Engineer is hereby designated as the engineer for this improvement. The
engineer shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of such improvements.
