AUTHORIZING FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR
WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY DEWATERING, ENERGY EFFICIENCY,
HEADWORKS, AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO.12CO03
WHEREAS, it is proposed to improve the City of Monticello's Waste Water Treatment Facility
by increasing the efficiency and capacity of the biosolids dewatering operations; improving the
energy efficiency of various electric motors, pumps, controls, and other electrical appurtenances;
increasing the capacity of the influent wet well to allow for more acceptable emergency response
time; relocating the headworks grit removal and screening operations to the front end of the
facility; reconstructing internal roads; and other miscellaneous site improvements.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA: That the proposed improvements be referred to the City Engineer for study with
assistance from Veolia Water and WSB & Associates, and that the City Engineer is instructed to
report back to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way
as to whether the proposed improvements are necessary, cost - effective, and feasible; whether it
should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement; and the
estimated costs of the improvements as recommended.
