RESOLUTION NO. 2012-061
ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR
2012 RURAL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO. 12CO01
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the making of improvements to three rural
road segments and 2 pathway segments in the southeast section of the City including street and
pathway reconstruction, drainage improvements, and other necessary appurtenant work, bids
were received, opened, and tabulated, and the following bids were found to comply with the
advertisement for bids:

WHEREAS, the bid of Knife River Corporation of Sauk Rapids, MN in the amount of
$693,358.90 for the total base bid for the construction of said improvements, in accordance with
the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder
and shall be and hereby is accepted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITYOFMONTICELLO:
1. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of
the City of Monticello.
2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder
and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
