RESOLUTION NO. 2012-070
AUTHORIZING FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR
WEST 7TH STREET EXTENSION (MINNESOTA TO ELM)
CITY PROJECT NO. 12CO02
WHEREAS, it is proposed to extend West 7th Street as an urban section between Minnesota
Street and Elm Street including the necessary grading, curb and gutter, pavement, pathway,
storm sewer, public utilities, ponding, signing and striping, street lighting, turf establishment, and
other necessary appurtenant work, and to assess the benefitting properties for all or a portion of
the cost of the improvements, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA: That the proposed improvement be referred to the City Engineer for study with
assistance from Braun Intertec and WSB & Associates, and that the City Engineer is instructed to
report back to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way
as to whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost - effective, and feasible; whether it
should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement; and the
estimated cost of the improvement as recommended.
