RESOLUTION NO. 2012-100
SUPPORTING EXPANSION OF THE INTERSTATE 94 WEST CORRIDOR
FROM MAPLE GROVE TO SAINT CLOUD
WHEREAS, the Interstate 94 west corridor from Maple Grove to Saint Cloud is an interregional
corridor designed to provide for the cost - effective, efficient and safe delivery of goods and services
throughout the region, the State of Minnesota, and the nation;
WHEREAS, the Interstate 94 west corridor from Maple Grove to Saint Cloud supports the travel,
tourism and hospitality industries throughout the region and the State of Minnesota;
WHEREAS, expansion of the Interstate 94 west corridor from Maple Grove to Saint Cloud will
generate additional economic activities within communities along the corridor;
AND WHEREAS, congestion on the Interstate 94 west corridor from Maple Grove to Saint Cloud
is projected to increase significantly in the near future negatively impacting communities along the
corridor and resulting in significant delays for drivers using the corridor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBYRESOLVED BY THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OFMONTICELLO, MINNESOTA: that the Monticello Economic
Development Authority supports the expansion of the Interstate 94 west corridor from Maple Grove
to Saint Cloud to increase mobility on this interregional corridor, and hereby supports the adoption
of Approach C in the Minnesota State Highway Investment Plan (MnSHIP).
ADOPTED BY the Monticello Economic Development Authority this 14`h day of November, 2012.
