RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -043
ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR
THE SLUDGE DEWATERING FACILITY FOR PHASE 1 OF
WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY BIOSOLIDS DEWATERING,
ENERGY EFFICIENCY, HEADWORKS AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO. 12CO03
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for a sludge dewatering facility for the Phase
1 improvements of the Waste Water Treatment Facility Biosolids Dewatering, Energy
Efficiency, Headworks and Site Improvements project, bids were received, opened, and
tabulated, and the following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids:

WHEREAS, the bid of Municipal Builders, Inc., of Andover, Minnesota, in the amount of
$1,376,100.00 for the base bid, for constructing a sludge dewatering facility in accordance with
the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder
and shall be and hereby is accepted; and,
WHEREAS, the purchase of the screw press equipment, which will be housed in the sludge
dewatering facility, was done in advance of bidding the remainder of the Phase 1 improvements
to allow the improvements to be completed by November 2013.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITYOFMONTICELLO:
The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of
the City of Monticello.
2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder
and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
