ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR
AERATION BLOWER AND ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT FOR PHASE 1 OF
WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY BIOSOLIDS DEWATERING,
ENERGY EFFICIENCY, HEADWORKS AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO. 12CO03
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for aeration blower and ancillary equipment
for the Phase 1 improvements of the Waste Water Treatment Facility Biosolids Dewatering,
Energy Efficiency, Headworks and Site Improvements project, bids were received, opened, and
tabulated, and the following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids:

WHEREAS, the bid of Houston Service Industries (HSI), of Houston, Texas, in the amount of
$136,000 for the base bid for aeration blower and ancillary equipment, in accordance with the
approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, shall be and hereby is accepted as
the lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended by Veolia Water and city staff to grant an additional $5,975
allowance for a water - cooled unit, ducted air inlet and other minor needs related to the aeration
blower equipment;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREB Y RESOL VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MONTICELLO:
1. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the purchase of said equipment for and on behalf of the City
of Monticello.
2. The City Council hereby authorizes an additional $5,975 allowance for a water - cooled
unit, ducted air inlet, and other minor needs related to the aeration blower equipment.
3. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder
and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
