RESOLUTION NO. 2014-070
APPROVING THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICE
THROUGH THE WRIGHT COUNTY AREA TRANSPORTATION (WCAT) BOARD
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello no longer receives public transit service upon dissolution of
the River Rider contract for transit services effective June 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello wishes to continue providing public transportation to the
residents of the City of Monticello in conjunction with other Wright County cities;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA:
1. That the City of Monticello shall enter into a Joint Powers Agreement for public transit
service through the Wright County Area Transportation (WCAT) Joint Powers Board.
2. That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to sign the Joint Powers
Agreement.
3. That the City Council shall appoint a voting representative and an alternate to serve on
the Wright County Area Transportation Board.
