RESOLUTION NO. 2014-092
AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF FACILITY PLAN AMENDMENT,
AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND
AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR ADDING ANAEROBIC
DIGESTER IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PHOSPHORUS REDUCTION
IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY,
CITY PROJECT NO. 140002
WHEREAS, on July 14, 2014, the City Council approved a contract with WSB & Associates,
Inc. for repair work on the secondary digester cover and the primary digester mixer; and
WHEREAS, following completion of said work, WSB & Associates is recommending
replacement of the primary and secondary anaerobic digester covers, an evaluation of the
650,000 gallon sludge storage tank for possible conversion to a secondary digester, and related
design and construction services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello desires to maintain compliance with the MPCA's mandated
NPDES permit re- issuance requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Facility Plan for the Phosphorus Reduction Improvements requires amendment
to add anaerobic digester improvements;
NO W THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CITY CO UNCIL OF MONTICELL O,
MINNESOTA:
Such improvements are necessary for the Phosphorus Reduction Improvements as
required by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. The total fee for engineering and
construction services is estimated at a not -to- exceed fee of $182,984.00.
2. WSB & Associates, Inc. is hereby designated as the engineer for this improvement. The
engineer shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of such improvements.
