RESOLUTION NO. 2014-097
APPROVING COOPERATIVE CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT #06545 WITH THE
STATE OF MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MISSISSIPPI
RIVER TRAIL (MRT) SIGN INSTALLATION AND ENTRY TO CITY RIGHTS -OF-
WAY FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the Monticello City Council adopted Resolution #2012 -072 on August 27, 2012
expressing approval and support for the designation of the Mississippi River Trail (MRT) as U.S.
Bicycle Route 45; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will perform MRT sign installation
and other associated construction to be conducted under State Project No. 8823 -293 on various
trunk highway routes;
NOW THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED B THE CITY COUNCIL OFMONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA: that the City of Monticello enter into MnDOT Agreement No. 06545 with the
State of Minnesota Department of Transportation for the following purposes:
1. The City shall allow the State to enter upon City right -of -way to install Mississippi River
Trail signing along the designated MRT route on city roadways.
2. The City shall provide for proper maintenance of the route signing.
RE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Administrator are hereby
authorized to execute this Agreement and amendments to the Agreement.
ADOPTED BY the Monticello City Council this 13th day of October, 2014.
