AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MONTICELLO CITY CODE,
TITLE 2, CHAPTER 1— PLANNING COMMISSION
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY the City Council of the City of Monticello, Minnesota:
Section 1. Title 2, Chapter 1 — Planning Commission, shall be amended as follows:
Section 2-1-1: COMPOSITION:
(A) The Planning Commission shall consist of five members appointed by the
Council.
. All members shall be residents of the city of
Monticello and shall have equal rights and privileges.
Section letters shall be added to Section 2-1-1 (B) and (C).
Section 2. Title 2, Chapter 1 — Planning Commission, shall be further amended as follows:
Section 2-1-2: ORGANIZATION; MEETINGS:
(A) The Commission shall elect a chairs from among its appointed
members for a term of one year, and the Commission may create and fill
such other offices as it may determine.
(B) The Planning Commission shall hold at least one regular meeting each
month. This meeting shall be held on the first Tuesday. Regular meetings
shall commence at 7—.-00 6:00 p.m. Hearings shall be heard as soon
thereafter as possible. The Planning Commission shall adopt rules for the
transaction of business and shall keep a record of its resolutions,
transactions, and findings, which record shall be a public record.
(C) Special meetings may be called by the Chair, as needed, and shall be
coordinated with city staff.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to make the changes required by this Ordinance
as part of the Official Monticello City Code, and to renumber the chapters
accordingly as necessary to provide the intended effect of this Ordinance. The
City Clerk is further directed to make necessary corrections to any internal
citations that result from said renumbering process, provided that such changes
retain the purpose and intent of the Monticello City Code as has been adopted.

Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage
and publication. The ordinance in its entirety shall be posted on the City website
after publication. Copies of the complete City Code are available online and at
Monticello City Hall for examination upon request.
