A SUMMARY ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 15 OF THE
MONTICELLO CITY ORDINANCE RELATING TO PAWN SHOPS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on January 9, 2012, Ordinance No. 542 was adopted
by the City Council of the City of Monticello, Minnesota. Due to the lengthy nature of
Ordinance No. 542, the following Summary Ordinance No. 542A has been prepared for
publication as authorized by state law.
The ordinance adopted by the Council amends the Pawn Shop ordinance, Title 3, Chapter
15 of the Monticello City Ordinance. The general purpose of the ordinance amendment is to
update rules and regulations related to operations of Pawn Shops in the City of Monticello with
changes in the following sections:
Definitions
Application Required
Application Execution
Persons Ineligible for a License
License Fees
Redemption Period
Holding Period
Police Order to Hold Property
A printed copy of the whole ordinance is available for inspection by any person during
the City's regular office hours. The complete ordinance will be posted on the City's website
following publication.
