A SUMMARY ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 6, CHAPTER 3 OF THE
MONTICELLO CITY CODE RELATING TO ANIMALS; FOWL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on April 9, 2012, Ordinance No. 557 was adopted
by the City Council of the City of Monticello, Minnesota. Due to the lengthy nature of
Ordinance No. 557, the following Summary Ordinance No. 557A has been prepared for
publication as authorized by state law.
The ordinance adopted by the Council amends the Animals; Fowl ordinance, Title 6,
Chapter 3 of the Monticello City Code. The general purpose of the ordinance amendment is to
update rules and regulations related to keeping animals and fowl in the City of Monticello, with
changes in the following sections:
6 -3 -1: Animals Kept Within City Limits
6 -3 -2: Stables
6 -3 -3: Fowl within City Limits, Permits
6 -3 -4: Application for Permit
6 -3 -5: Duration of Permit; Fee
6 -3 -6: Conditions for Keeping Animals or Fowl; Revocation
6 -3 -7: Refusal to Grant Permit
6 -3 -8: Pens; Yards
6 -3 -9: Animals, Fowl At Large
6 -3 -10: Manure
A printed copy of the whole ordinance is available for inspection by any person during
the City's regular office hours. The complete ordinance will be posted on the City's website
following publication.
