City Council Ordinance 507ORDINANCE NO. 507 CITY OF MONTICELLO WRIGHT COUNTY, MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8, CHAPTER I OF THE MONTICELLO CITY ORDINANCE RELATING TO SIDEWALKS THE MONTICELLO CITY COUNCIL ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The following index of Title 8, Chapter 1 of the Monticello City Ordinance shall be amended to read as follows: 8-1-11: Time of Snow Removal and Ice Control Section 2. The following provisions of Title 8, Chapter 1 of the Monticello City Ordinance shall be amended to read as follows: 8-1-11: TIME OF SNOW REMOVAL AND ICE CONTROL: The owner or occupant of every building or tract of land within the City fronting upon any street having a sidewalk abutting upon such premises shall clear such sidewalk of snow within forty-eight (48) hours following the termination of any snowfall of two (2) inches or more or control the formation of ice from any cause. If such snow is not removed or ice is not controlled by the owner or occupant within the time specified herein, the same shall be removed or controlled under the direction of the Public Works Director and the City shall be reimbursed for the expense of such removal by the property owner within 30 days per the current City fee schedule. If payment is not received within 30 days the costs shall be levied against the property owner as a special assessment and collected as in the case of other special assessments. Section 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and publication according to law. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Monticello this 11 th day of January, 2010.
