Parks Commission Agenda Packet 01-24-1992 MONTICELLO 250 East Broadway P. O. Box 1147 Monticello, MN 5536z-9z45 Phone: (612) 295-2711 Metro: (612) 333-5739 Faxc (612) 295-4404 MEMO TO: Parks Commission Members and Roger Mac(k1 FROM: Jeff O'Neill, Assistant Administrator ~l ~~ DATE: January 17, 1992 RE: Meeting notice A special meeting of the Parks Commission has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, at 4:3Q p.m. Parks Commission will be asked to review proposals submitted by various architects outlining the casts and scope of services associated with design of the West Bridge Park warming house. Parks Commission will be asked to review the information and make a recommendation to City Council. A special meeting is necessary because only two members of the Parks Commission came to the meeting scheduled for January 15, 1992. It is important that we get a quorum for the Tuesday meeting so that the item can be placed in the Counc3,1 agenda packet for review by Council on January 27. If you will be unable to attend this meeting, please call as soon as possible. r~ u CONSULTANT EVALUATION WEST BRIDGE PARK WARMING HOUSE PROPQSALS January 15, 1992 Based on services provided for a lump sum bid, each engineering firm has strengths and weaknesses compared to the others. Many of the items which would result in extra cost are either equal or not addressed. (Not addressing an item would appear to be an opening fox an extra.) TKDA would appear to be the leader in strengths based on experience, capabilities, bidding assistance, and cast. The weaknesses of TKDA's propasal lie in structural calculation and shop drawing review at an extra cost along with project meetings and pay request to be done by the City. RCM had listed minor services not provided by TKDA, but their bid was higher, and electrical and mechanical capabilities were listed as limited. QSM had the highest bid proposal with the only advantage being reference to heating. TKDA would appear to be the best service for cost value to the City. • Analysis by: Tom Bose 1/15/92 • CONSULTANT E'rAL17AT10f~1 WEST BRIt3GE PARK WARMING H©USE PROPOSALS January 15, 1992 EXPERIETICE AB1LITtES REQUEST PLANS CODE ANALYSIS SHOP QRAIMNGS RCM Considerable in public and commercial.
