ACCEPTING DESIGN BUILD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZE ADVERTISEMENT FOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
GRAVITY BELT THICKENER - WWTP
PROJECT NO. 2001-03C
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the council on January 22, 2001, HDR, a
consulting engineer, has prepared plans and specifications for request for proposals for the
design build construction of a gravity belt thickener for the wastewater treatment plant and has
presented such plans and specifications to the council for approval;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA:
1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City
Administrator are hereby approved.
2. The City Administrator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in
the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for request for proposals for the making of
such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for three days, shall specify the work to be done shall state that all
proposals shall be submitted to the City by 12:00 noon on April 3, 2001. The request for
proposals and the responsibility of the proposer will be considered by the council at
7 p.m. on April 9, 2001 in the council chambers of the city hall. Any proposer whose
responsibility is questioned during consideration of the proposals will be given an
opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No proposal will be
considered unless sealed and filed with the City Administrator and accompanied by a
certified check, cashier's check or design/build proposal bond in the amount of five
percent (5%) of such proposal payable to the City
