RESOLUTION NO. 2001-36
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
PROJECT NO. 98-02C PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AND
PATHWAY
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the City Council on March 13, 2000. The City
Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the construction of 1.1 miles of an off-road
pedestrian/bicycle pathway crossing over I-94 adjacent to County Road 18, widening of Bridge
No. 86804 and installation of landscaping improvements and has presented such plans and
specifications to the City Council for approval,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOL VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA.-

Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof,
are hereby approved.
2. The City Administrator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in
the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be
published for three days, shall specify the work done, shall that bids will be received by
the City Administrator until 10 a.m. on July 3, 2001 at which time they will be publicly
opened at City Hall by the City Administrator and City Engineer, will then be tabulated
and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered by the City Council at 7 p.m. on
July 9, 2001.Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the
bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No
bids will be considered, unless sealed and filed with the City Administrator and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to
the City for five percent of the amount of such bid.
