City Council Resolution 1998-18RESOLUTION 98-18 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING PROJECT AND ORDERING IMPROVEMENT FOR EXTENSION OF UTILITIES TO RESURRECTION CHURCH AND METHODIST CHURCH SITES WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvements consisting of extension of sanitary sewer and water main from Meadow Oak Lane to the Resurrection Church and Methodist Church sites, bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID Kuechle Underground Inc. $40,804.24 J.R. Ferche, Inc. $47,298.66 Volk Sewer & Water, Inc. $48,246.20 LaTour Construction $49,376.83 Larson Excavating Contractors, Inc. $57,150.78 Barbarossa and Sons, Inc. $58,327.70 Inland Utility Construction, Inc. $58,354.04 R.P. Utilities, Inc. $58,730.40 Randy Kramer Excavation, Inc. $59,132.77 Rolstad Construction Co. $59,745.80 Redstone Construction Co. Inc. $62,992.50 Schluender Construction $63,876.00 Northdale Construction $75,124.82 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Kuechle Underground Inc., of Kimball, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, Resurrection Church and Methodist Church have entered into an assessment agreement that waives public hearing requirements under Chapter 429. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA: 1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached contract with Kuechle Underground, Inc., of Kimball, Minnesota, in the name of the City of Monticello for the extension of sanitary sewer and water main from Meadow Oak Lane Resolution 98-18 Page 2 to the Resurrection Church and Methodist Church sites, according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. 3.
