RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE ELECTION
AND DECLARING THE RESULTS
(November 3, 1998)
WHEREAS, the Deputy City Clerk has duly presented to the City Council the summary
statement of ballots voted in the November 3, 1998, Municipal Election; and
WHEREAS, said statement has been sworn to by the Judges of the Election; and
WHEREAS, the total of votes cast for the offices voted upon are as follows, to wit:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MONTICELLO that the totals listed above are deemed to be correct, the election. is deemed to be
valid, and the official winners of the election are declared to be as follows:
For Council (4-year term): Clint Herbst and Brian Stumpf
For Mayor (2-year term): Roger Belsaas
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO that the
question of allowing the City Council to issue six on-sale licenses for the sale of intoxicating
liquor at retail in excess of the number now permitted by law is hereby declared approved.
