RESOLUTION DECLARING ADEQUACY OF PETITION,
ORDERING REPORT, RECEIVING REPORT,
AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
ON UTILITY EXTENSION
FOR RESURRECTION CHURCH AND METHODIST CHURCH
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA:
A certain petition requesting the extension of sanitary sewer and water main from
Meadow Oak Lane to the Resurrection Church and Methodist Church sites (the
improvements), filed with the Council on the 10th day of November, 1997, is hereby
declared to be signed by the required percentage of owners of property affected thereby.
This declaration is made in conformity to Minnesota Statutes, Section 429.035.
2. The petition is hereby referred to Bret Weiss of WSB & Associates, and that person is
instructed to report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a
preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost-effective, and
feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some
other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended.
WHEREAS, Bret Weiss of WSB & Associates has prepared a report on the improvements, and
this report was received by the Council on November 10, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the report provides information regarding whether the proposed project is
necessary, cost-effective, and feasible; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed to construct the improvements and to assess the benefited property for
all or a portion of the cost of the improvement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA:
1. Bret Weiss of WSB & Associates is hereby designated as the engineer for this
improvement. He shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of such
improvement.
Adopted by the Council this 10th day of November, 1997.
