RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING BY THE CITY
ON THE MODIFICATION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN
FOR CENTRAL MONTICELLO REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
AND THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING PLANS FOR
TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICTS
NOS. 1-1 THROUGH 1-18 AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT NO. 1-20
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Monticello
("Authority") administers the Central Monticello Redevelopment Project ("Project") and Tax
Increment Financing Districts Nos. 1-1 through 1-18 ("TIF Districts") within the Project
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.001 to 469.147 and Sections 469.174 to 469.179
(collectively, the "Acts"); and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to consider a modification to the
Redevelopment Plan for the Project and the Tax Increment Financing Plans ("TIF Plans) for
the TIF Districts and to hold a public hearing thereon in accordance with the Acts:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council (the "Council") of the City of
Monticello, Minnesota (the "City"), as follows:
1. Public Hearing. This Council shall meet on Monday, June 24, 1996, at
approximately 7 p.m., to hold a public hearing on the proposed modification of
the Central Monticello Redevelopment Project and Tax Increment Financing
Districts Nos. 1-1 through 1-18 and the establishment of Tax Increment
Financing Sections 469.001 to 469.047, inclusive, as amended; and Minnesota
Statutes, Sections 469.174 to 469.179, inclusive, as amended, in an effort to
encourage the development and redevelopment of certain designated areas
within the city; and
2. Notice of Hearing; Filing of Program. The City staff and consultants are
authorized and directed to modify the Redevelopment Plan and create the Tax
Increment Financing Plan (the "Plans") and to forward documents to the
appropriate taxing jurisdictions, including Wright County and Independent
School District No. 882. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to cause
notice of the hearing, together with an appropriate map as required by law, to
be published in the official newspaper of the City no later than 10 days prior
to June 24, 1996, and to place a copy of the Plans on file in the Clerk's Office
at City Hall and to make such copy available fon�inspection by the public.
