RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND ORDERING PROJECT
FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO BRIAR OAKES PLAT II AND
TO THE RIVER STREET TRUNK SANITARY
SEWER RECONSTRUCTION
PROJECTS 96-02C AND 96-06C
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for sanitary sewer, water main,
streets, and storm sewer improvements to BRIAR OAKES PLAT II AND FOR THE
RIVER STREET SANITARY SEWER RECONSTRUCTION, bids were received,
opened, and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received
complying with the advertisement:

AND WHEREAS, it appears that Richard Knutson, Inc., of Savage, Minnesota, is
the lowest responsible bidder at a cost of $572,534.36.
AND WHEREAS, the petitioner is the sole owner of the property benefited from the
Briar Oakes Estate improvements, and the petitioner has waived his rights to a
public hearing on this matter.
AND WHEREAS, no assessments will be levied in conjunction with the River Street
Trunk Sanitary Sewer portion of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the
attached contract with Richard Knutson Inc., of Savage, Minnesota, in the
name of the City of Monticello for sanitary sewer, water main, streets, and
storm sewer improvements to Briar Oakes Plat II residential subdivision and
for River Street Trunk Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction, according to the plans
and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the
office of the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the
successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a
contract has been signed.

3. Such improvement to Briar Oakes Plat II is hereby ordered as proposed in
the Council resolution adopted the 8th day of April, 1996.
4. Such improvement to the River Street Trunk Sanitary Sewer is hereby
ordered as proposed in the Council resolution adopted the 13th day of May,
1996.
