City Council Resolution 1993-22RESOLUTION 93- 22
WHEREAS, the Mississippi River is an important asset to Wright County having
scenic, recreational, and economic impacts on Wright County; and
WHEREAS, Montissippi Park is on the federally and state designated Great River
Road, the Wright County Bikeway Plan, the City of Monti.cello's Bikeway Plan, and
provides recreation opportunities to the region; and
WHEREAS, Wright County and the Monticello area has seen a dramatic increase in
population in recent years making the improved access to Montissippi Park important
to maintaining the quality of life in the area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Monticello City Council strongly
supports Wright County's efforts to seek financial assistance from the Federal
Highway Administration in:
1. improving access to the park by paving roads, parking lots, and trails.
2. adding a picnic shelter and restrooms.
3. creative play area for the children.
