RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FEASIBILITY REPORT,
CALLING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON THE IMPROVEMENT,
AND ORDERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
PROJECT 92-02, SCHOOL BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 92-2 of the Council adopted
January 13, 1992, a report has been prepared by Orr-Schelen-Mayeron
with reference to the improvement of "School Boulevard" between
Fallon Avenue and Wright County Road 118, and this report was
received by the Council on March 23, 1992; and
WHEREAS, United Power Association's requirement that the roadway
along the power line be developed with a curb, and due to the fact
that there is a small cost differential between development of a
roadway designed to urban standards versus rural standards, the
petitioner has modified the original petition to include
development of an urban road section rather than development of a
rural road section; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner has guaranteed payment of the cost to
prepare plans and specifications in the event the project is not
ordered by Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO,
MINNESOTA:
1. The Council will consider the improvement of such street in
accordance with the report, which includes development of
streets, curb, gutter, and storm sewer and the assessment of
abutting property for all or a portion of the cost of the
improvement pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, at an
estimated total cost of the improvement of $415,800.
2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvement on
the 13th day of April, 1992, in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall at 7:00 p.m., and the clerk shall give mailed and
published notice of such hearing and improvement as required
by law.
3. Bret Weiss of OSM is hereby designated as the engineer for
this improvement. He shall prepare plans and specifications
for making of such improvement. Ordering of plans and
specifications is subject to acceptance of the finance plan by
the Monticello School District.
