MINUTES
MONTICELLO LIBRARY BOARD
August 11, 1986
Members Present:
Marge Bauer, Warren Smith, Joel Erickson,
Marguerite Pringle
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Budget
a. The Board looked at the budget for the first six months of
1986. We added $200 for advertising. Everything else looks
fine except for expense of new furnace.
b. Marge feels that in addition to the weekly cleaning, the
Library should have a twice a year "spring cleaning." This
was approved.
c. Insurance costs: Why have the costs more than doubled?
Warren will ask the company for an explanation of this.

d. Parking lot. Joel Erickson will check on cost of resurfacing
the parking lot.
e. The 1987 budget with a few minor changes was approved. Marguerite
Pringle moved that it be accepted. Joel seconded. Motion
passed.
3. computers:

Marge will check with St. Cloud for some input.
4. Benches: Monticello Rotary is donating two benches. They will
be installed soon, hopefully by the City. Warren will send a
note to the Rotarians thanking them for this fine gift.
5. Summer book loan program. Warren will also send note of appreciation
to Pinewood for another successful year of the loan program.
6. Computer system report: Requests for books are now handled by
computer.
7. New vacuum cleaner: We need a new vacuum cleaner for the Library.
Marge will look into this and get some prices.
