Special council meeting held this time and date at the Village Fall.
,`embers present! Councilman F. Schaffer, F. Swanberr, J. Plaus. Members
absent: Iviayor Sandberg and councilman R. Schleif. Meeting called to
appoint a temporary Villart Clerk -Treasurer. Councilman Maus, Acting Mayor,
presided over the meeting„
Miotion by Councilman Schaffer to appoint Vir. Gary Prin le to serve
durinw tree interim period as the temporary Villa;Fe Clerk -Treasurer until
a permanent fall time Village Clerk -Treasurer is appointed to fill the
position. Motion seconded by Councilman Swanberm and. carried. Voting yes:
Councilmen Schaffer, Swanber , and Maus. Voting no: � None.

January 5, 1970
Special meeting of the Village Council held this time and date at the
Village Hall. Members present: Mayor Granlund; Councilmen Martie,
Schlief, Swanberg, and Maus. Members absent: none.
Mayor Granlund, Councilman Martie, and Clerk- Treasurer Gary L.
Pringle were sworn in.

The flooding of a second skating rink for use by small children was dis-
cussed, and it was decided that a Village worker should handle the flooding
of the area.
Motion by Councilman Schlief to issue a vote of confidence to the Planning
Commission, and to set up guide ,lines for use by the Planning Commission
members in the future. Motion seconded by Councilman Martie and carried.
Voting yes: unanimous.
Dale Johnson attended the meeting and introduced himself. He mentioned
that the Village audit may be completed this week while Lloyd Schnelle is
able to help. Mayor Granlund proposed that he spend a couple of hours
with Dale Johnson before the audit is completed.
Mo tion by Councilman Maus to appoint Gruys Johnson accountants as
auditors for the Village of Monticello for 1970, and that firm will do the

cash report for thie Village in 1970. Motion secondel by Councilman Swanberg
and carried. Voting yes: unanimous.
Motion by Councilman Swan -,,berg to appoint Councilman Maus as acting
mayor, seconded by Councilman Schlief and carrie3. Voting yes: unanimous.
Motion by Councilman:Swanberg to .appoint Ron Michaelis as civil
defense director for the Village of Monticello. Motion seconded by
Councilman Schlief and carried. Voting yes: unanimous.
Motion by Councilman Schlief to accept and sign the contract submitted
by Thor Meyer thereby appointing Thor Meyer Village Engineer for the
Village of Monticello. Motion seconded by Councilman Maus and carried.
Voting yes: unanimous.
Motion by Councilman Swanberg to appoint the Wright County State Bank
as the official depository for the Village funds. Motion seconded by Councilman
Maus and carried. Voting yes; unanimous{.
Motion by Councilman Swanberg to appoint the Monticello Times as the
official newspaper. Motion seconded by Councilman Martie and carried.
Voting yes: unanimous.
The council discussed the problem of appointing a Village -clerk- Treasurer.

Special meeting of the Village Council continued after recess at this
time and date at the Village Hall. Members present: Mayor Granlund;
Councilmen Martie, Schlief, Swanber. r and Maus. Members absent: none.
Mayor Granlun presentee to the Council his resignation as mayor of the
Village of Monticello, which will be effective January 6, 1970. Motion
by Councilman Maus to accept the resignation of Mr. Granlund as the may:)r
of the Village of Monticello effective January 6, 1970. Motion seconded by
Councilman Swanberg an,--! carried. Voting yes: unanimous.
Mr. Gary L. Pringle presentee to the Council his resignation as Clerk -
Treasurer of the Village of Monticello which will be effective January 6, 1970.
