Library Board Minutes 10-29-1990 . . . MINUTES MONTICELLO LIBRARY BOARD MEETING 1991 BUDGET MEETING Monday, October 29, 1990 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Ed Solberg. Members Present: Ed Solberg, Pat Schwarz, Mary Jane Puncochar, Becky Jesinski, and Librarian Marge Bauer Members Absent: Dr. Donald Maus A motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting of April 30, 1990, was made by Becky Jesinski and seconded by Mary Jane Puncochar. Motion carried. Old Business 1. Marge Bauer reported that letters are still being taken from the large library sign in front of the library, though fewer now than during the summer. (They cost approximately $5.00 each. ) 2. All the trees on the library property have been checked and trimmed. 3. Marge Bauer reported that use of the conference room has dropped drastically since the Library Board voted to raise the rent from $25.00 per meeting to $50.00. A motion was made by Mary Jane Puncochar and seconded by Becky Jesinski to lower the room rent from $50.00 to $35.00. (These fees go into the petty cash fund.) Motion carried. 4. A Panasonic camcorder for library use has been purchased from Day tons at a cost of $844.97, and a cordless telephone (for use in reference calls) has been purchased at a cost of $69.00 from Coast to Coast. New Business - 1991 Budget 1. A 5% raise in salary for Jerry Hermes (he cleans the library) was discussed. He currently receives $227.50 bimonthly. This amount would increase to $240.00 bimonthly. A motion was made by Mary Jane Puncochar and seconded by Pat Schwarz to raise Jerry Hermes salary 5%. Motion carried. . . . Minutes Monticello Library Board October 29, 1990 Page 2 2. Discussion on the 1991 budget followed. A motion was made by Mary Jane Puncochar and seconded by Pat Schwarz to accept the 1991 budget. Motion carried. 3. A motion was made by Mary Jane Puncochar and seconded by Ed Solberg to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
