City Council Resolution 1988-18RESOLUTION 88-18 RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING READVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of a pump and pumphouse #3 along with appurtenant work, bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement. Company Name Bid Amount 1. Richmar Construction of Fridley $ 272,290.00 2. ABE Construction of Golden Valley $ 276,300.00 3. A & K Construction of Stillwater $ 288,727.00 WHEREAS, the lowest bid received was 27 percent higher than the Engineers estimate, and the Engineer recommended that minor modifications to the plans and specifications be made and the project be rebid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA: 1. The City Council hereby rejects all bids received pertaining to the improvements of a pump and pumphouse #3 along with appurtenant work. 2. The City Administrator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the Monticello Times and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement according to the approved plans and specifications. The readvertisement shall be published for 21 days and shall specify the work to be done and shall state that the bids will be received by the Administrator until 11:00 a.m. on July 22, 1988, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of the City Hall by the City Administrator and Engineer, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the Council at 7:30 p.m. on July 25, 1988, in the Council Chambers. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Administrator and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City of Monticello for 5 percent of the amount of such bid.
