RESOLUTION OP' APPRECIATION
CITY OF bIOtJTICELLO
WRIGHT COUPJTY, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, the City of ronticello, because of the existence and
possibility of a disaster at the Monticello Nucle<;~r Power Plant
within the limits of its jurisdiction, plans to provide for the
public peace, health and safety of its citizens; and
WHERF:P..S, Albert H. Quie, Governor of the State of Minnesota,
has directed all state agencies to prepare plans for such an
emergency in his Executive Order DIo. 79-3; and
WHEREAS, Alfred A. Baert, Revion VI Civil Defense Coordinator,
has done an EXCEPTIONAL job to help the City of P•ianticello and its
Civil Defense staff to develop and test these plans in a Nuclear
Power Plant Emergency Drill held on January 7, 19£31; and
WHEREAS, those efforts were a significant factor contributing
to a successful test of the tduclear Power Plant Emergency Plan on
January 7, 1981;
NOW THEREFORE, BF. IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City of Ponticello
officially recognized those efforts by and of Alfred A. Baert to
help carry out its efforts to protect the public peace, health and
safety of its citizens; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Defense Director for
the City of Monticello deliver a copy of the resolution to
Alfred A. Baert; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be
sent to Mr. Ralph A. Olmos, the Director of Emergency Services,
Department of Public Safety for the State of Minnesota.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of ronticello,
Minnesota this 12th day of January 1981.
