RESOLUTION
For the City of Monticello, Wright County Minnesota,
WHEREAS,. the City of Monticello acknowledges and recognizes the
possibility of potential disasters, both natural and manmade; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello recognizes the need for a program
for expeditious response to those disasters; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello feels that the response can be
most expeditiously handled under the direct control of the Governor,
as opposed to the. Division of Emergency Services being part of the
Department of Public Safety;
NOt~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Monticello does
support Senate File 541, and its companion bill in the House, to take
the Division of Emergency Services out of the Department of Public
Safety and place it into the Governor's Office.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Monticello, this 23rd day
of March, 1981.
