Planning Commission Resolution 2016-016CITY OF MONTICELLO WRIGHT COUNTY, MINNESOTA PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. PC- 2016 -016 A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED SALE OF CERTAIN LAND BY THE CITY OF MONTICELLO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR INDUSTRIAL PARK PURPOSES IS CONSISTENT WITH THE CITY OF MONTICELLO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Monticello ( "City ") proposes to convey certain parcels of real property described in Exhibit A attached hereto (the "Property ") and located in the City to the City of Monticello Economic Development Authority (the "Authority "), for reconveyance to Clear Creek Land Company, LLC (the "Developer "); and WHEREAS, the Authority desires to transact the sale of the Property to the Developer pursuant to its economic development powers, in order to facilitate the development of an expansion to the Developer's beverage distribution facility within the City; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.356, subd. 2 requires the Planning Commission to review the proposed acquisition or disposal of publicly -owned real property within the City prior to its acquisition or disposal, to determine whether in the opinion of the Planning Commission, such acquisition or disposal is consistent with the comprehensive municipal plan; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed conveyance of the Property, and has determined that the Property is located in Otter Creek Crossings, an area designated for "Places to Work ", an industrial park use within the City's comprehensive plan, and is therefore consistent with such use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Monticello, that the conveyance of the Property by the City to the Authority, and the sale of the Property by the Authority to the Developer, are consistent with the City's comprehensive municipal plan, and will promote the expansion of a successful distribution facility within the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be communicated to the Board of Commissioners of the Authority.
