Council to issue a variance on the present sign ordinance thot is effective
January 1. 1977. We believe the present ordinance places tno m„ch necdshi::
an the business peoule who have their investment in these a+isting signs.
We woula favor consiucretion be given to an amendment whereby the present
signs be grandfathered in as lung as they are in good repoir.However, vrnen
the present signs come down for replacement then they would have to comply
with the ordinance requirement of any sign protruding more then 18" over
a public right-of-way.

STREETS
A. Loader work burying trees at dump and gearing off
-land fil.1 site - I day.
B. Patch streets - 2 days with the streets completed.
C. Equipment maintenance - primarily work repairing sweeper
and sending truck to Mills. for hoist repairs.
D. Complete job of putting up snow fences and markers
for ditch areas for snow removal.
E. final hauling of gravel and blade work on roads and
streets. This .includes blading park roads and 4th
Street park ball diamond - I day - 4 men.
F. Repair road and replace culverts on road to Jameson
property - 2 days.
C. Begin cutting down S Dutch elm trees on Doug Pitt's
property.
It. Sweep streets - 1/3 completed.
WATER/SEWER
A. Replace and repair storm sewer catch basins on inter-
section of Linn/River Streets. ]Included In this was
hooking up a sanitary sewer into the appropriate man-
hole. 3 days for entire project.
B. Haul. sludge - S days.
C. Flood skating rinks.
D. Dismantle/repair hydrants taken out during 76-1 Project.
B. Work in preparation for winter at the sewer plant -
c.learing brush by effluent lino, wind barriers, rte.

All trees tagged in 1976 are now removed except
for one area where property owner requested city
remove in late fall, these are now in process of

specifications. Additionally, Red Michaelis has
offered his property for 420,000 with possession
date of July 1, 1977.
