1. Public Hearing on 1976-1 Sewer, Water & Street
Improvement Projects.
John Badalich, city engineer, presented preliminary
report outlining the sewer, water and street improvement
projects, including cost estimates for the following
areas:
A. Doerr Estates (3 lots)
B. Ritze Manor (19 lots)
C. Hillcrest 2nd Addition (18 lots)
D. Mississippi Drive (39 lots)
The total construction costs were estimated at $468,540,
L of which approximately $320,000 would be assessed against
abutting property owners. Each assessment would be
approximately $4,100.
All affected property owners present at the hearing were
in favor of the project.
A motion was made by Gene Walters, seconded by Stanley
Hall and unanimously carried to table decision on improve-
ments until next council meeting.
2. Informational Meetina - Pronosed 1976 Projects for the
City of Monticello.
The City Administrator briefly outlined the proposed
projects being considered by the City for 1976. These
included:
A. Park improvements to bridge, Ellison and 4th St.
parks. The city planner is currently preparing
preliminary park improvement plans for these
existing parks.
B. Possible street lighting from the I-94 inter-
change to down town on Highway 25•
- C. A new city hall complex.
D. Improved facilities for Senior Citizens.

E. A ground water storage reservoir. �)
F. Street improvement including the black topping
of streets.
G. Possible residential street lighting.
H. Storm sewer improvements in the area of Maple
Street and Chestnut Street.
John Badalich further explained to the citizens why the
city should be considering the construction of a ground
water reservoir system.
Lee Trunnell, Fire Dept. secretary, requested that the
fire department would like additional space and that
they be included in future expansion plans of the
city.
Questions were also raised in regard to long range park
planning within the city.
A majority of the citizens present at the meeting felt rl
the projects discussed were needed by the city. U
